Podcast Content
Welcome to the podcast "Real Life Horrible Facts". Today we'll be discussing some of the darkest, most chilling events that have taken place throughout history. Some of these stories are truly shocking, and contain graphic content, so listener discretion is advised. Buckle up, and prepare to be horrified.

First up, we have the story of the Dyatlov Pass. In 1959, nine hikers set out on a trek through the Ural Mountains in Russia, only to never return. It wasn't until weeks later that rescuers discovered their tent, torn open from the inside. The hikers' bodies were found scattered throughout the area, some with unexplained injuries such as broken ribs and fractured skulls. One hiker was even missing her tongue. To this day, no one knows what truly happened on that fateful night.

Next, we have the case of the Toy Box Killer. David Parker Ray was a sadistic serial killer and rapist who kidnapped and tortured women in his "toy box" in New Mexico. The trailer contained various instruments of torture and Ray would play a tape of his own voice, detailing to his victims the horrors that were about to be unleashed on them. The victims were often drugged and then completely at the mercy of Ray's twisted fantasies. The sickening reality of this case is that authorities believe that Ray had dozens of victims, many of whom have never been identified.

Perhaps one of the most disturbing events in recent history is the ongoing Rohingya crisis. The Rohingya are a Muslim minority group residing in Myanmar, who have faced persecution and discrimination for decades. In August 2017, a military crackdown in the country led to the mass exodus of over 700,000 Rohingya, who fled to neighboring Bangladesh. Reports of massacres, burnt villages, and rape have emerged, leading many to call it a genocide. Sadly, this crisis shows no signs of abating, and the Rohingya continue to suffer unimaginable horrors.

The case of the "Lawnmower Man" is another example of the depravity that some humans are capable of. John Wayne Gacy was a notorious serial killer who preyed on young boys and men in the Chicago area in the 1970s. However, it was the details of some of his crimes that truly chilled law enforcement officials to the bone. Among numerous other offenses, Gacy was known for his love of sodomy, and he would often force his victims to perform sexual acts on him while he held a knife to their throats. One disturbing anecdote reported that Gacy once forced a victim to choose between his own life or the life of another victim, before he murdered them both with a lawnmower blade.

And finally, we have the story of the "Colombian Necktie". This gruesome act involves slitting a victim's throat, and then pulling out their tongue through the slit to create a "necktie" effect. While it is often associated with Colombian drug cartels, the practice has been employed by various organizations throughout history. The Colombian Necktie exemplifies the truly sickening lengths that humans will go to in order to exert power and control over others.

These stories represent only a small fragment of the horrors that have taken place throughout history. They serve as a reminder of the darkest parts of human nature, and the evil that can reside in the most unlikely of places. We hope that by shining a light on these events, we can work towards building a safer, more just society for all. Thanks for tuning in to "Real Life Horrible Facts."
