After more than a year of waiting, the Mayas are back, and fans should be glad that Miguel Galindo and Danny Pino are falling apart. Things got worse for the motorcycle club, which last had a season in 2019, but will start the new season on Tuesday after a break of more than 16 months.
But forget that Miguel has not yet revealed the truth about his lineage, or the knowledge that his nemesis is his half-brother, EZ Reyes. The man who killed Dita without her permission and the man responsible for the death of her mother, the mother of Miguel's father. If E Z forgets the information on the side of her mother's killer, he cannot tell Angel that truth.
The FBI agent who knows all about the robberies and shootings with the Samoans and wants to make sure that the police don't forget his mission. Mayor Pena takes Emily to task for not doing more to help the collapsing economy, which Miguel later assures him is not her fault. She also agrees to help Alvarez, a mercenary tricked by Alvarez, send a coded message to Bishop Galindo, which will enable him to track him down. Potter asks him for help in carrying Adelita, and he and the Mayans save her.
The Mayans mourn Riz and nurse their broken souls, while Bishop Michael Irby tries to find their next step. Although outnumbered, they still manage to kill almost all of their rivals, and even blow up the Samoan leader who fled the gunfire in a van. The strings that unite the trolls and the rock, and who is a better teacher?
When the club's Reyes brothers drive home, the Swole Boys try to take revenge on Angel and EZ and throw Riz off his bike. The sons leave El Padro, but rival M.C. kills him and blinds Coco. Miguel first sends his henchmen Gino and Joe to kill Dita, a former therapist, because she would not give him information about his mother's sessions.
Later, a Tucson charter member goes to Santo Padre and insists he needs heroin to protect his man who is in prison. Some gang members, including Angel and EZ, cross the border through a hidden tunnel to reach a Maya who was injured in a robbery. They take the drugs, but Ez saves the life of a Maya trapped in the burning van.
The Reyes brothers put aside their differences and join forces to help, but they forget the support of their friends from Sons of Anarchy. The Mayans meet with M.C., who is currently in dispute with the Mayas. During the meeting, they devise a strategy to confront the Samoans and decide to interfere. The situation gets worse when the Samoan leader is dragged back to Mayan headquarters and interrogated by Galindo, who wears a sinister yellow raincoat.
El Padrino, whom SOA fans will recognize as Marcus Alvarez , comes to Mayan headquarters to give advice on cartel problems. While the club was visiting the Mayan Stockton Charter, he witnessed two dirty cops shooting one of its members, Medina. Sensing a change in the situation, some of her friends decide to join the rebels in secret.
Back at Reyes' butcher's, a man picks up a package he had left earlier: a note that says, "You need to get in touch with me that night. Then he realizes that his brother is the man Galindo and the rest of the Mayans were looking for. The final twist comes when he and Angel, along with the other Mayas who have subsequently accompanied him, cross the border into Mexico to dispose of the Samoan's body.
The episode follows on from the explosive penultimate episode, in which Vatos Malditos undertakes a surprise attack on the Mayas, destroying their trust and fuelling their desire for revenge. Zane takes the last step, sacrifices victims Lloyd to protect his friend and free him from the threat. Next comes a scene in which they roll up to a cemetery where the Samoans hang around and apparently beg, and get into a shootout in broad daylight with semi-automatic weapons. They reach the birthday party they were talking about, shoot at the square and kill everyone in it.
Now, just over a year later, Mayan's M.C. is finally preparing for its March 16 return, and according to the show's cast, it has really benefited from the recent creative shake-up. Speaking to Gamespot on Tuesday, Cardenas discussed how Kurt Sutter's absence has affected season 3. I think the writing environment for season three has improved since showrunner Kurt left our show. Since Suttering left and James took over, filming Mayan M, C.'s has become a more calming and welcoming experience.
After receiving Oxycontin to relieve pain after an eye injury, Coco appears to be infected by the substance and swaps her daughter's iPad for more tablets when she goes out. Her interest in hypnosis resurfaced after watching the film 4th Child, when she was able to use the film's protagonist to help those who were convinced they had been kidnapped by aliens.
