As an aside, I have always wondered why IMA sets itself so firmly against the study and classification of inorganic synthesised materials.
It follows that the study of geologically formed materials is, almost by definition, the study of exceptions, since any one sample is likely to differ in some detail from the next.
All the IMA says is that we will not call those materials "minerals".

In the world of healing, it is believed that Shungit stones do not require purification because they have no negative energy.
