This event also helped my children appreciate their blessings and see how much their parents love them without begrudging other people who may not have been able to celebrate on Christmas Day. My children were confused at first but eventually understood the importance of such an event.
To get the best Christmas activities, I put up Christmas lights, bought great Christmas decorations and even got a Christmas tree. We also celebrated other major holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter, but nothing could compare to the little bit of Christmas magic that we all enjoyed. My in laws even joined us for this special event and we added some pretty decorations to their tree too. We watched Hallmark channels all day, did some crazy things like eating turkey instead of ham and dressed up in our favorite holiday outfits. This was a day filled with love as it reminded us that family is the most important thing in life. Events like this get me a strong craving for more holidays, more life events and more time spent together with my family.
