The 2023 SDG Summit will be the second SDG summit--the HLPF, under the umbrella of the UN General Assembly--since the adoption of Agenda 2030 in September 2015. The 2023 SDG Summit will take place from September 19-20, 2023, during the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly. Since the inception of the World Wide Web in 1989, the Web Conference is an annual international academic conference on the subject of the future direction of the World Wide Web.
This is a special topic for this year, as the 2023 copyright on The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes, containing the final two Holmes stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle, is set to expire. On January 1, 2023, the public will know for certain that all works published in 1927 or before are available to be used freely, without the need to undertake the boring or unconvincing search of whether or not a copyright owner has followed through with formalities. For works published in that year, only the original works published in 1927 are entering the U.S. public domain. Doing the math, works published in 1927 are 95 years old -- until 2022 -- and they will be in the public domain on Jan. 1, 2023.
However, there is a copyright notice that says either 1927 or MCMXXVII on actual copies of these works, meaning the original versions of these works are in the public domain as of 2023 . No audio recordings are entering the U.S. public domain this year--for that, we will have to wait until Jan. 1, 2024, when recordings made in 1923 become available for legitimate reuse. If there are 68 teams in the NCAA Tournament field, though, a few key differences will emerge compared with years past.
The main adjustment to the typical year is, obviously, playing the NCAA Tournament as a whole in one venue. To keep travel low, the pairings in the first round will be geographically driven as much as possible.
